Compulsory briefing sessions: what to know
Updated 26 Oct 2026 · 3 minute read
Many tenders, especially construction and site services, hold a briefing session or site meeting. When it is marked compulsory, only bidders who attended and signed the register can submit.
Before you go
- Note the exact date, time and venue. Some are online.
- Arrive early: late arrivals are often not allowed to sign.
- Bring your company stamp, business cards and the tender number.
At the briefing
- Sign the attendance register with your company name exactly as on your bid.
- Ask questions about anything unclear. Answers are often shared with all bidders afterwards.
- Take notes and photos of the site where allowed.
Tender Sorted shows briefing dates on every tender page, and the free alerts flag tenders with compulsory briefings.
